Hello, I'm Kate!
I thrive in a world of analytical & critical thinking, organization, timelines, efficiency, training, and creativity. I am currently looking for a role in creative operations.
Over the past 13 years, I have gained extensive experience working both on-site and remotely across the United States, South Pacific, and European markets. My professional journey has spanned diverse design environments, including a mid-sized advertising agency, a publishing house, boutique design studios, contract roles, and the education sector. I have had the privilege of collaborating with major brands such as Starbucks, Lidl, HubSpot, and Chipotle, as well as supporting start-ups and family-owned businesses.
For six years, I successfully ran my own practice, where I managed multiple projects simultaneously. During this time, I developed systems and processes to streamline the production of creative work, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow between the client and myself. I was contracted full-time at a fintech startup, where I managed creative projects across all company departments, restructured brand architecture and optimized an efficient online project management system for 4 separate departments. I also worked closely with the product and engineering teams, learning their processes and systems. I eventually started leading daily stand ups and retros.
In my current role, I began as a Senior Presentation Designer, thriving in high-pressure environments, crafting custom presentations in collaboration with C-Suite executives for corporate events with large, diverse audiences. This involves presenting my work, defending design decisions, and securing executive buy-in or negotiating fair compromises. After a year, my role has morphed into splitting my time between presentation design and creative operations. My biggest achievement was revamping a project management system from the ground up for a team of 25+ creatives and 5 Creative Project Managers. This grew into additional departments asking for assistance, and ultimately, created a task force team to ensure we build a system which fosters cross-departmental collaboration.
I am confident that if given the opportunity to make this transition, I would be a valuable asset to any team. I am dedicated and driven, always tackling challenges head-on until they are resolved. Additionally, I prioritize kindness and empathy in all my professional interactions, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
TLDR
I've been doing design for 13 years, with creative operations throughout that time period.
In my last 3 roles, I have created efficiencies by designing systems and streamlining processes for my team as well as cross-departmental teams.
I am well-versed in presenting, explaining, and defending creative concepts and rationals.
I am dedicated, driven, kind, empathetic, positive, and timeline driven.

I am currently located in Denver, but am open to opportunities elsewhere.
I have spent the majority of my 20's and early 30's living overseas, and gaining invaluable experiences along the way.
I love gardening and have designed gardens in my spare time for myself, family members, and friends.
I love to be outside whether it's hiking, walking, gardening or just hanging out in a shaded backyard.
I am a creative who loves to learn, so I have racked up a few hobbies like playing uke and guitar, painting, photography, embroidery, sewing, reading, baking, and cooking.
I used to figure skate competitively in my younger days, and I started up again in my late 20's. Now that I'm in my mid-30's, my skills have become a little slower, but I still got some tricks up my sleeve!
