Senior Designer -> Creative Director, Project Manager, and Creative Operations Specialist
I was originally contracted as a Senior Designer at an Ireland-based, Fintech startup during my full-time freelance practice days. They were in need of an experienced designer to apply their new logo and color palette to marketing materials.
However, I saw untapped design potential and after speaking to stakeholders, I developed the brand’s visual style across all touch points. This included landing pages, sales pages, blog design, CTAs for blogs and emails, email templates and campaigns, social campaigns, investor decks, one-pagers, interactive PDFs, internal documentation, illustrations, infographics, icons, and Canva templates. As their product offerings expanded, I worked with the Head of Brand to future-proof their brand architecture.
Beyond my design tasks, I also reviewed all external creative ads, managed a part-time, remote illustrator, and I oversaw creative projects from beginning to end with multiple different teams, including Leadership, CX, Content & Publishing, Lifecycle Marketing & Sales, Acquisitions, Brand, Engineering, Data, and Product.
I became the advocate for design at the company, implementing a design process, educating teams on said design process, and how to work with a designer.
During this process, I started project managing the largest campaign of the year, and with my skills, we slashed the lead time from 6 weeks to 3 weeks. All people involved were happy with the smooth, much-less-stressful process I had implemented.
To expand on my knowledge of project management beyond a designer role, I took initiative to design and implement a web page for the Marketing Department, housing the project management system I built, as well as overviews on resourcing and OKRs for leadership. This is now the page the team uses to keep track of all projects, even ones that span across other teams.
